Epoch Archiving document imaging and scanning services include indexing and online document hosting. We individually cater our imaging services to address each client's specific needs, never force-fitting customers into a standardized template.
Document imaging, also referred to as scanning, is the process whereby we take your hard-copy document and convert it to a computer-readable format, in which we offer many industry standard application extensions. Those digital images produced by scanning are equivalent to the original documents provided. They can be edited (if so required), transmitted, displayed, printed, indexed, and archived, giving a number of advantages to the standard hard copy. Optionally, we also scan and process every document with OCR/ICR (optical/intelligent character recognition) allowing for a “Google” like search of text embedded in the metadata of each document. The electronic copies are now available to anyone with whom you grant access to the document database. Any document can be quickly found using keywords or phrases. If a hard copy is required it can be printed and once used, shredded and recycled.
Epoch Archiving covers a broad range of document types. We scan items as small as negatives, slides, credit card receipts or business cards and can process as large as legal documents, 11x17 images, or even blueprints if required. We have wide experience with difficult paper such as tissue, onion, "sticky" notes and envelopes. Our assortment of scanners permits us to always apply the most appropriate equipment. All valuable and fragile papers are evaluated and processed to assure proper care and accurate conversion during the document preparation process and we handle all documents with meticulous professionalism to not only ensure integrity but preservation as well.
